Submission Policy
Submitting a manuscript to Proceedings of Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex implies that the work is original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Submission confirms that all listed authors have agreed to the submission and that the manuscript complies with the journal?s ethical standards.
- Originality and Prior Publication
- Manuscripts must be original and should not have been published previously in any form (print, electronic, or ahead-of-print), except as an abstract, conference proceeding, preprint, or thesis/dissertation (with proper citation).
- Concurrent submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal is strictly prohibited.
- If closely related or overlapping work by the same author(s) has been published, accepted, or submitted elsewhere, copies of such work must be provided with the submission. Editors will decide whether overlap is acceptable and whether citation of related work is required.
- For detailed policies, see the ICMJE recommendations on overlapping publications: ICMJE Recommendations
- Authorship and Affiliations
- The primary affiliation of each author should be the institution where the majority of the work was carried out.
- If an author has since moved to a new institution, the current address should also be provided as a footnote, with the date of change.
- Authorship must comply with the ICMJE authorship criteria: ICMJE Authorship Guidelines
- All authors should approve the final manuscript before submission.
- Ethical Permissions
- If unpublished data, confidential information, or personal communications are included, authors must provide written permission from the individuals or sources concerned (email permission is acceptable).
- When applicable, authors must submit evidence of Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Ethics Committee approval, informed consent, and/or animal welfare compliance.
- For guidance, see:
- Declaration of Helsinki ? Ethical Principles for Medical Research
- ICMJE Recommendations: Protection of Research Participants
- Exclusivity During Review
- While under review at Proceedings, manuscripts must not be submitted to another journal or repository for consideration.
- Withdrawal requests must be formally submitted in writing by the corresponding author and will only be considered if no editorial decision has been made.
